Hey! I want a gig like
this Santa Claus dude! Think about it: More popular than John Lennon and only really
has to work one time a year. Suh-weet!
Well, I figured out how, in a small way, I can accomplish this goal. I
can help play Santa Claus to kids who are in unfortunate circumstances. What I like about how this gig
sounds is that it goes a long way in maintaining anonymity when it comes to charitable giving. Here’s
the deal and maybe you’ll want to get in on the job, too.
Here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, there’s a charity called “Santa’s Helpers” that does phenomenal work in providing toys for needy kids in the area at Christmas. The great
folks at local ABC affiliate, WFAA, have led the charge in collecting all sorts of new toys for these kids and have been responsible
for putting smiles on their appreciative faces. For many years, now WFAA meteorologist, Troy Dungan, donated
a considerable amount of time to this worthy charity and his replacement, Pete Delkus, has taken Troy’s Santa’s
Helper’s mantle.
If
you don’t live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, there are likely Angel Tree’s or other such charities that help collect
toys for needy kids.
So,
why not join me in this sweet gig of “only working one day a year”, and put a smile on at least one needy kids
face? You’ll only have to work that job one day a year.
